Blairstown: no information available online


Boonton: Additional containers, bags or items that cannot fit in a can or bag that are left at the curbside requires the purchase of a sticker from the Municipal Clerk or from the Public Works Department. Examples of items requiring a sticker include but are not limited to television sets and other larger electronic devises, mattresses and box spring sets, furniture, household goods, appliances, large trash, carpeting and similar materials.

Bulk Item Stickers - $5.00 for small items; $10.00 for large items. Available at Town Hall or the Recycling Center- required for furniture or other large non-metallic items. Place bulk items curbside on regular garbage day with sticker clearly visible.

Byram Township/Andover: One (1) Bulk Item per week (ex. sofa, chair, dresser, mattress, desk, carpets rolled in <6’ sections, exercise equipment such as treadmill ONLY if less than 50% metal, etc.).

Chester Township: Household bulky waste items such as bedding, furniture, carpeting, etc, can be placed curbside without stickers.

Denville: Each household is permitted two 30 gallon containers and one bulky item per pick-up.

Dover: mattresses, springs, carpeting, large furniture, small machinery, etc., (items that do not fit in a garbage can or bag) require a sticker before being placed at the curb.  These are picked up by the garbage collector on normal garbage days.  The fee for “bulky” item stickers is $5.00 each.

Hackettstown: no information available online


Hanover Township (Cedar Knolls, East Hanover, Whippany): Curbside collection of bulk items (appliances, furniture, carpeting, etc.) is performed by appointment only. There are no exceptions to this rule. To schedule a pick-up, please call the Department of Public Works at 973-428-2495. Do not place items at the curb prior to calling the Department of Public Works for a pick-up date. Collection of bulk items may be suspended during the leaf collection season.

Hopatcong: One (1) large item can be placed at the curb for disposal each week on your regularly scheduled garbage pickup day with the purchase of a BULK sticker. Bulk items are collected only at curbside and require a $10.00 sticker which can be purchased at Borough Hall with proof of residency. Seniors 62Years or older with proof of identification will receive 2 free stickers per calendar year per household.

Jefferson Township (Lake Hopatcong, Oak Ridge): Bulky Items (Sofa, Furniture, Mattresses) may still be disposed of on the second pickup of the week, substituting one can of garbage for each bulky item. If you have any questions, you may contact 973-697-1500, 9 am to 4:30 pm. Mondays through Thursdays and 8 am to 3:30 pm on Fridays for assistance

Mansfield Township (Port Murray): Furniture, such as mattresses, box springs, couches, chairs and other household wooden items: accepted curbside on your regular scheduled trash collection day.

Mendham Township: You pay a sticker fee to cover the cost of disposal at the Morris County Transfer Station. Stickers may be purchased by contacting RTS at 1-833-MNDM-RTS (663-6787); at the Mendham CVS located in the Village Shopping Center, 88 East Main Street in Mendham and at Robinson Drug and Compounding Center, 2 East Main Street.  Stickers are sold in sets of 10/$7.50.

Mine Hill: Regular Garbage Pick-up will accept TWO GARBAGE CANS and ONE BULK ITEM PER HOUSEHOLD PER WEEK.

Morris Plains: Residents may put one large item on the curb for each Thursday pick-up. This may include things like a refrigerator with door removed, or an air conditioner. If you have a large quantity of heavy or bulky items, please arrange to have them hauled away at your own expense.

Morristown: Large Trash: Second garbage collection day of each week. Large trash including non-metal furniture, wood, mattresses, and carpet cut into 4-foot-wide rolls and tied.

Mount Arlington: Garbage disposal cans are limited to 3 (three) 32-gallon cans per household.  One large bulk item can be placed at curbside on any Monday for pick up with your regular household garbage.

Mount Olive Township (Budd Lake, Flanders): Stickers can be purchased by coming into the Municipal Building M-F 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or by mailing the application to the address on the form. Regular large items are picked up on Mondays- please call 973-691-0900 ext 7361 to let us know when the item is curbside for pick-up.

Mountain Lakes: The Borough offers the opportunity to dispose of bulky trash two times per year (3rd Saturday in April & October). Bulky trash that is not normally picked up can be taken to the Borough Garage on those days.

Netcong: Two bulk items (such as furniture, box spring and mattress, carpets) may be put out on garbage collection day if a sticker ($10.00 per item) has been purchased in advance at Borough Hall.

Parsippany: Place these items on your second garbage pickup day for disposal if you cannot donate or sell them.

Randolph: You may put out one large household item on each garbage collection day i.e., couch, chair, mattress, box spring, paint cans (completely dried out and empty), or rolled and tied rug/carpet (approximately 110 sq. ft., no more than 4 feet long).

Rockaway: One day per month residents may put out bulky items that you would not generally put out with your regular household garbage. Items may include but are not limited to – mattresses, box springs, couches, toilets, hot water heaters, dressers, end tables, etc. The collection is intended for disposing of a few pieces per month, not for emptying a house when moving or remodeling. There is a limit to the amount that can be placed curbside, generally 150 pounds per collection. Items must be able to fit into the hopper of a garbage truck and be able to be crushed. If the amount of material is excessive a dumpster or Bagster should be considered. Roxbury Township (Kenvil, Landing, Ledgewood, Succasunna): One bulky item will be taken in lieu of two cans of trash. Bulky items consist of furniture and other non-metal household items.

Sparta: Place your items at the curb on your second pickup days only. Check your calendar for the next date. Limit of 3 bulk items per collection day. You may also bring these items to SCMUA Residents' Convenience Center (fees apply).

Stanhope: One bulk item may be placed at the curb with your weekly garbage. Bulk items may include furniture, mattress, carpets, children’s toys and even the kitchen sink. Please be mindful, Blue Diamond will not accept construction materials, electronic waste or hazardous waste.

Sussex Boro: Sussex Borough does not provide garbage pickup and recycling. Residents will need to contract a sanitation company for garbage and recycling pickup.

Washington Township, Morris County (Long Valley): Washington Township no longer offers a bulky item disposal program. Contact Morris County Transfer Station on Gold Mine Road in Flanders to see what items they will accept. Contact them at 973-347-8106 or visit their website at mcmua.com.

Washington Township, Warren County: no information available online


Wharton: Bulk items for disposal will be picked up only with the appropriate collection sticker on them. Stickers are $10 each unless someone in your household is over the age of 62, permanently disabled, or a qualifying volunteer .All doors must be removed from any items prior to leaving them at the curb. Items go out on your regular garbage collection date.
