Leather Care Basics

Leather is a natural product and, thus, breathes and can dry out or fade in the heat or sun. It is important with protected leathers to restore the moisture at least twice a year with a leather conditioner. We recommend our Leather Care System, which can be purchased any time before your delivery. With this care system you will also receive a five year warranty which covers accidental burns, food and drink stains, rips and tears, ink and lipstick marks, punctures and all human or pet bodily fluids. It is further recommended that you not leave leather pieces in direct sunlight, as this may cause them to fade. If your leather piece is in a high sun or heat area, it is recommended to use a leather conditioner more often.

  • Routinely wipe with a damp sponge and/or dust with a clean cloth.
  • Keep the leather upholstery at least 12" away from direct heat sources to avoid cracking and peeling.
  • Blot liquid spills with a clean, dry cloth.
  • Remove sticky food residue with a damp sponge.
  • Use the leather conditioner 3-4 times per year.

If your leather furniture doesn't have protection, hair and body oils WILL work their way into the leather. All of this adds beauty, charm and uniqueness to the leather, like an old baseball glove or bomber jacket.
